Such Great Heights

Time: 20-30 minutes

Terrain: Sandy uphill and some rock climbing required.  Bring a friend along and come when it is dry.  Rocks could be quite slippery in wet conditions.

Enter the park and then park in the first lot on the left.  Start at the trailhead with a map (near the restroom). Start up the hill (since you are looking for great heights, OF COURSE you start uphill!). Halfway up, take a detour onto the small trail on the left.  Here the going will get steeper and will be quite sandy.  However you are on an important quest (see questscouts.com for more info) and should not be deterred by these minor difficulties. 

Soon you will arrive at a boulder field.  Instead of continuing forward, skirt around them by taking the first small trail on your right. Continue along the base of the bluff until you see this on the left near your feet:

If you continue a few steps further and then turn around, you should see this view:

The arrow points to the box location, behind a smaller flat rock.  Leave the sand and now carefully climb up the rocks to the box.  Stamp in and then carefully return it to a secure hidden position.  Congratulations – you have scaled SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS!
